Texas Bucket List

An incomplete Texas Bucket List with over 100 things to do, see, explore, and eat in the state Texas.

In my quest to see and experience as much as I can in Texas, I decided to create a bucket list.  This Texas bucket list is not complete because I know that there is plenty of fun, unique things to do or see that I have not even discovered yet.  Let me know if there is something that I am missing or you cannot believe that I didn’t add!

Austin, Texas State Capital

Austin

  1. Take in art outside at The Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria 
  2. Explore the LBJ Presidential Library
  3. Explore at the Thinkery Children’s Museum
  4. Drink coffee at Jo’s Coffee – i love you so much mural
  5. Take the North Pole Flyer for a ride
  6. Eat ice cream at Amy’s
  7. Canoe or paddleboard on Lady Bird Lake
  8. Visit the Austin Central Library and their rooftop garden
  9. Explore Lady Bird Wildflower Center
  10. Ride the Hill Country Flyover to Burnett for lunch and exploring for 2 hours before returning 
  11. Eat a cupcake at Hey Cupcake
  12. Play around at Peter Pan Mini Golf
  13. Explore Zilker Botanical Gardens
  14. Tour the Inner Space Caverns
  15. Swim at Barton Springs Pool
  16. Shop and eat along South Congress
  17. Learn at George Washington Carver Museum
  18. See the bats fly from under Congress Bridge 
  19. Eat donuts at Voodoo Donuts 
  20. Learn about the Texas government at the State Capitol 
  21. Take a picture in front of the Austin Postcard Mural 
  22. Explore Bastrop, Texas
  23. Eat at Franklin BBQ

San Antonio

  1. Visit the San Antonio Zoo 
  2. See the pagoda that was a present from San Antonio’s sister city in Korea at Denman Estate Park 
  3. Explore Landa Library
  4. Take in the Japanese Tea Gardens
  5. Explore the Sunken Gardens
  6. Shop or eat at the Historic Market Square
  7. Remember the Alamo
  8. Walk along the Riverwalk and take a boat ride
  9. Explore the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park
  10. Learn about animals at Sea World San Antonio
  11. See the Texas Cavaliers River Parade, San Antonio Flower Festival in April
  12. Drive Thru the Wildlife Ranch African Safari
  13. Explore Natural Bridge Caverns
  14. Float down the Guadalupe or Comal River
  15. Get your rodeo on at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo (or any rodeo in Texas – there are plenty to choose from)

  1. Experience Magnolia Market at the Silos 
  2. Learn about animals at Cameron Park Zoo 
  3. Visit the Dr. Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute
  4. See where the mammoths went at Waco Mammoth National Monument 
  5. Learn at the Mayborn Museum on Baylor campus
  6. Take in the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame & Museum
  7. See the bears at Baylor University
  8. Walk along the Waco Suspension Bridge
  9. Eat ice cream at Heritage Creamery
  10. Drink a cup of coffee at Common Grounds
