How to Record Your Travel Memories with a Midori Traveler’s Notebook

When we bought our camper, I knew that I wanted to have a way to record our camping trips.  I decided to purchase the Midori Traveler’s Notebook in black leather with one kraft blank refill.  The blank kraft pages create the perfect background to decorate and journal about each one of our trips.  Another beautiful option is Webster Pages Classic Notebook (I have one in mint).

Since you can buy many different refills for the Midori Traveler’s Notebook, it can be used in so many different ways.  Some people use the Traveler’s Notebooks like a calendar or a planner or to record notes.  Because you can fit several refills in the Traveler’s Notebook at one time, you can really use it to hold everything you need to keep track of or you want to record.

When I first got my Midori Traveler’s Notebook in the mail, I could not get enough of the leather smell.  Yes, I was a total geek and fell instantly in love with it!  Since the cover is leather it will scratch and show wear, but that is what makes it so amazing…it has a story to tell – your story!

For each camping trip, I use my Midori Traveler’s Notebook to record where and when we camped, what campground we stayed at, what we did, anything significant that happened (S’s first time fishing or we went for a trail ride, etc.).  The same concept could be used to record any trip that you take: a road trip, a trip to Europe, a cruise, etc.

If you are looking for a notebook with questions about each camping trip that you can fill out, this Camping Journal would be perfect.

I also number each campground to keep track of how many we have stayed at.  In addition, I started taking one photo at each campground using my Fujifilm Instax Camera that I attached into my Midori.  My Traveler’s Notebook is mostly housed in my camper along with supplies using IRIS Containers.

What supplies do I keep in the camper?  The basics: scissors, adhesive, a pen, an ink pad and roller date stamp.  Fun scrapbooking stuff (mostly flat items): puffy stickers, flat stickers, washi tape, a variety of Project Life cards and alphabet stickers to decorate my pages.

I have a lot of fun, spending a couple minutes each trip sitting down and recording our trip.  Sometimes I use the time while my husband makes breakfast or in the afternoon if we need a break.  Usually, my daughter pulls out her own container full of arts and craft supplies and creates beside me.  By recording our trip as it happens it ensures that I will not forget the details or put off/forget to record it.

This is beautifully done and laid out. I don’t have a Midori an we don’t really travel enough to make a travel journal worth the while but I do keep scrap books and need to get back into it and caught up soon. This was inspiring. Thank you!

I love the little map stamp!

This is such a wonderful idea, and something I would have never thought of doing while on vacation. Thank you for sharing at Merry Monday! Pinned.
