On nearly all of Disney’s cruises, there is a Pirates in the Caribbean night where pirates take over the ship, Disney characters are dressed up in pirate outfits, and fireworks. Previously there has also been a show and hopefully, that will return soon.

For our upcoming Disney Cruise, I had the idea to make a Pirates in the Caribbean-themed Minnie bow for my daughter’s Minnie ears using the bandanas that are handed out on Pirate Night.

This Minnie bow was super easy to make, basically free, and got lots of compliments from the characters.

How to Make Pirate-themed Minnie Bow

Cut a 16-inch by 6.5-inch rectangle from the bandana and hem the two long edges.

Then sew the short sides together and turn the bow right side out. Place the seam in the middle of the rectangle because you will cover the seam with the next step.

Cut a 5-inch by 1.5-inch rectangle from the bandana. You could hem this, however, I just folded the rectangle so you can not see the raw edges. Tie the small rectangle around the center of the larger rectangle (covering the seam). I glued the knot on the backside of the bow and cut the extra off.

Next glue an alligator hair clip to the back of the bow.

The bow could be used directly in your hair or clipped onto Minnie/Mickey ears.
