Why Do I Keep Returning to Disney World

May 15, 2015 By: mybigfathappylife

Why Do I Keep Returning to Walt Disney World; Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom | mybigfathappylife.com
When I tell people that I’m going to Disney World, I am frequently asked “you’re going again? weren’t you just there?” and the answer is yes.  However, I may be slightly addicted but the positive is that the first step in addiction is admitting you have a problem. 🙂

Below are the main reasons why I keep returning to Disney World:

Try Something New Each Trip

Disney World is so large that you can not see everything in one trip.  Disney World is constantly changing – adding and taking away.  The last several years have seen a lot of walls up at Disney World, but it’s the cost of improving our future experiences.  On each trip we try to do all of our favorites and at least one new experience.  It could be a new attraction, a new restaurant or a new event.

Special Festivals/Events

There’s several different times a year that there are festivals or events going on at Disney World.  The biggest ones are Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival, Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival and Star Wars weekends at Hollywood Studios.  I have to say Flower and Garden and Food and Wine are two of my favorite times to attend Disney World.  These festivals/events add a little extra to your trip that you cannot experience during the rest of the year.

Holidays

Disney World also does special things for different holidays throughout the year.  The biggest is of course Christmas where Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party, the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights (discontinued – 2015 was the last year) and Epcot’s Holidays around the World  is offered, in addition holiday decorations are up and some characters are dressed in holiday attire.

Halloween is another big one at Magic Kingdom with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party.  On a smaller scale, you can meet the Easter Bunny or participate in an egg hunt on Easter or see special fireworks for the Fourth of July.

Magical Experience

One of the main reasons that I return trip after trip is that when I am at Disney World I feel isolated.  I feel like I am in a magical world where the outside world doesn’t exist.  The cast members do what they can to ensure you have a fun, magical trip!

Are you a frequent visitor to Disney World?  What keeps drawing you back?

I’ve definitely heard that Disney is one of those places that you get to experience something new with each visit. I’m looking forward to our visit next year and am sure we end up repeat visitors as well.

I’ve been returning to Disney since I was a teen and now I’m taking my grands just about every year. We usually go in the spring. I’ve been once at Christmas and once in July. July was a big mistake because it was so hot and crowded. After seeing all of your tips, I want our next trip to be in the fall. I would love to take the grands during Halloween season.

I’m with you on this- we’ve been a few times and I cannot wait to return, especially now that I have a daughter! It really is the happiest place on earth. The last time we went was during the food and wine festival and we had the best time!

I love Disney World. If I could afford it we would go every year. I agree there is so much to see and it changes all the time. So there is always something new to enjoy. I would love to visit around the holidays. The last time we went it was Star Wars weekend. It was really crowed at Hollywoood Studios so we didn’t stay long. My husband is a fan of Star Wars, but our kids are not so they were not impressed…lol.

I am not a Star Wars fan, so I have actually never been during Star Wars weekend. I’ve heard it gets really crowded! Early December is a great time to visit!

I have not been since I was six years old but I remember it being so magical. It has to be so cool to be there during the holidays, I bet Disney goes all out with lights. Time to start planning a trip! 🙂

It’s just plain FUN…no explanation required. I had the best time with my family when I went because all the everyday worries of the world were left behind at the Disney gates. Disney is a place I would return every year if I could fit it in our schedule. I love it! 🙂

Exactly Tiffani! I love not having to think about the real life while at Disney!

SO true! I was a Cast Member many years ago and I still try to visit Disney every couple years, even if I’m just shopping at Downtown Disney or riding the monorail. 🙂 And despite most peoples’ assumptions, you don’t have to have little kids to go! My family and I went several years ago when my youngest sister was 18 and my mom said she had more fun than when we were all little! No matter what, you’ll have a great time. I’ll be down this fall for Food and Wine and Mickey’s Not So Scary and I cannot wait! Thanks for all your great posts.

Thanks Erin! Some of my favorite trips were as an adult before my daughter was born! You are going to have so much fun this fall – it’s one of my favorite times to visit.
