Receiving the Home Chef Box

As soon as my Home Chef box was delivered I brought it inside and unpacked it.  Inside the box was the recipes cards and a bag of insulation that surrounded all the food.  Inside the insulation was an entire layer of ice packs and all the non-meat ingredients separated into bags for each recipe.  Then there was a layer of cardboard followed by another layer of ice packs and the meat for the recipes.   

I was confident that the food was safe and stayed cold while in shipment.  However, I am not sure that I would want the box to stay outside all day in a southern summer.  If you are not home during the day, you may want your box delivered to a neighbor or friend or to you at work.  

Cooking Dinner

Let’s talk about meal prep!  Each recipe card included easy-to-follow step by step instructions.  The recipe card also tells you how many days you should make the recipe in!  

The two dinners that I received was Chicken Risotto Casserole and New England Style Fish Cakes.  The whole family enjoyed dinner both night and I am looking forward to trying these recipes again!   It’s always a good night when my daughter happily eats her dinner without complaints.

Conclusion

I loved receiving Home Chef!  We enjoyed the change up and the meals appealed to the whole family.  My daughter also helped me make both meals, so we got to spend extra time together.  Lately, I have not been looking forward to cooking dinner, but since we received our meals from Home Chef I feel like my cooking mojo is back!  Yay!
