Tips for Taking Your Dog on Car Ride

August 22, 2016 By: mybigfathappylife

Tips for Taking Your Dog on Car Ride #ad | mybigfathappylife.com

Our dog, Duke, is so much a part of our family.  We have always had a dog and our lives wouldn’t be complete without him in it.  Since we try to go camping once a month, he is frequently on the road with us.  When your dog is in close proximity to you in the car the last thing you want is for them to have bad breath.  I am not sure what it is that dogs eat to get such bad breath, but I want Duke to have clean teeth and fresh breath so that I can get closer to him without hesitation.

We have found that PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX™ Treats are the perfect oral care treat for Duke.  DENTASTIX™ Treats help clean down to the gum line to promote healthy gums, and its chewy texture helps scrape away plaque while chewing to help clean hard-to-reach teeth. Look for the patented X-shaped treat.

Besides making sure Duke’s breath is fresh, there are certain tricks I do to get him ready for long car rides and road trips including:

  • Before your first long road trip, take your dog in the car for short rides as often as possible.  Think trips to the drive thru at the bank or to pick up the kids from school.
  • Check your dog’s shot records to make sure they are up to date.  You’d hate to get to your destination only to find out that their shots are due.Tips for Taking Your Dog on Car Ride #ad | mybigfathappylife.com
  • Never leave your dog in a car alone, especially during the summer months where temperatures in vehicles are way higher than temperatures outside.
  • Pack essential items for your dog including dog food, food/water bowls, PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX™ Treats, comfort toys, leash, bags to pick up waste and shot records.Tips for Taking Your Dog on Car Ride #ad | mybigfathappylife.com

With a clean mouth and fresh breath, your family will be able to get “road trip close” with your dog to share endless hugs and kisses on the road this summer, without dog breath getting in the way.

Have you tried PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX™ Treats?  How do you prepare your dog for a road trip?
