Creamsicle Ice Cream Bars remind me so much of my childhood – they were definitely a favorite of mine. With the arrival of summer and the weather warming up (we’ve been in the triple digits for several weeks now) I was really craving some delicious ice cream. We went out to purchase Creamsicle Ice Cream Bars and visited three local grocery stores and couldn’t find any. I don’t know if they are sold out everywhere or what but since I decided that I only want Creamsicle Ice Cream it was time to make my own!

This creamy and smooth Creamsicle Ice Cream recipe is so easy to make. It uses simple ingredients to make the perfect combination of citrus/orange and vanilla. This ice cream recipe will become a family favorite and will be requested on repeat!

I use this ice cream maker and have had it for close to 8 years. It’s easy to use and still works perfectly. The ice cream always comes out creamy and smooth.

I love these 1.5-quart ice cream storage containers! The ice cream always stays creamy inside because they are double-insulated and the container doesn’t create condensation all over the counter. Also, the elongated design makes scooping your ice cream so much easier.

Creamsicle Ice Cream Recipe

In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Fill the ice cream maker with the mixture and run for 15-20 minutes.

*I added one drop of orange food coloring. This is not necessary at all, however, I wanted the ice cream to be just a little more orange for my photos.

Serve or freeze for later. Ice cream will be very soft right out of the machine.

Tip:  When making ice cream be sure to keep your cold ingredients in the fridge and your frozen ice cream insert in the freezer until you are ready to use.
