When I was in school, I always brought my lunch from home.  I loved picking out my lunchbox each year and having a great lunch that my mom packed for me everyday.  As a mom, I am always looking for fun lunch ideas that are easy to put together for my daughter.  Traditional sandwiches can start to get boring over time, but Sandwich Kabobs are easy to make, fun for kids to eat and can be customized to fit what your child likes to eat.

Offering a full line of deli meats and cheeses Castle Wood Reserve® is versatile enough for the lunch box or a charcuterie board.  The flavors are unmatched, even my husband said that Castle Wood Reserve® Angus Roast Beef was the best he has ever had.  I love that the deli meats and cheeses contains No MSG, Trans-fat Free and Gluten Free and the cheeses are rBST Free.

The Sandwich Kabobs are assembled on a bamboo skewers which makes lunch time fun for kids.  There are so many different combinations you can make but Turkey Pita, Ham and Swiss, and Beef and Cheddar have been favorites at my house.

Turkey Pita alternates rolled Castle Wood Reserve® Oven Roasted Turkey, black olives, grape tomatoes, pita bread cut into triangles and Castle Wood Reserve® Natural Smoked Provolone Cheese.

Ham and Swiss alternates folded Castle Wood Reserve® Honey Ham, grape tomatoes, white bread (cut into cubes), and Castle Wood Reserve® Natural Baby Swiss Cheese.

Beef and Cheddar alternates folded Castle Wood Reserve® Angus Seasoned Roast Beef, sliced dill pickles, Castle Wood Reserve® Natural Sharp Cheddar Cheese and white bread (cut into cubes).

In order for the Sandwich Kabobs to fit into your child’s lunchbox, you may need to cut the skewer in half.  I used just regular scissors to cut the skewer down.  I paired the Sandwich Kabobs with some dried fruit for my daughter.
