Louisiana Campground Reviews

Louisiana Campground Reviews, camping, rving | mybigfathappylife.com

We have loved camping in our camper!  We have have enjoyed many adventures, learned a lot and spent quality time together as a family.  Our memories our priceless and we cannot wait to create new memories in new places.  Below are reviews for some of the campgrounds we have stayed at in Louisiana.

Please note: We have a 2015 Salem Cruise Lite that is 26 feet long/31.5 with tongue.  This post will continue to be updated as we visit additional Louisiana campgrounds.

Lake Bruin State Park near St. Joseph, Louisiana

This is one of my favorite campgrounds we have stayed at.  Our campsite was right on the water – the lake was literally less than 10 feet from our camper.  It was relaxing to listen to the water lapping the shore.

There is a fishing dock, a water playground, a playground, boat docks and boat rentals.  We enjoyed fishing, riding our bikes, taking walks and relaxing.  The sunsets were amazing to watch as it reflected off the lake between cypress trees.

Sweetwater Campground and Riding Stables near Amite, Louisiana

We received a coupon to camp here for two nights for free when we purchased our camper.  The campground also features trail rides and pony rides (additional charge), which we were all excited to try.  The trail ride was fun, the scenery pretty (through a wooded area) and the employees were kind.  The campground has a playground, a pool, planned activities and a fishing pond.

Sweet Waters Campground

When did we visit: November 2015

Would we visit again: maybe

Campsite #47 : pull through, close to playground and short walk to the trading post/barn, con: very noisy on Saturday night due to karaoke which went into their ‘quiet hours’ time

Cell phone service (Sprint): yes

WIFI: yes

Lake Fausse Pointe State Park in New Iberia Parish, Louisiana

There are three hiking trails, a 7 mile canoe trail, a water playground, two playgrounds, boat docks and boat rentals.  We enjoyed hiking and relaxing.  We cannot wait to visit again with a campsite on the water (they each have their own fishing dock) and to rent a flat bottom boat to explore the waterways.
