My family is hitting the road in a couple weeks to visit Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.  I know that we will be spending almost all day outside hiking, observing wildlife, learning about geysers and taking in the beauty of nature, so we are prepared with several bottles of Banana Boat® SunComfort® Lotion Sunscreen.  We are so excited for our trip and cannot wait!

I have found that one thing that helps keep my daughter entertained when we are doing a lot of hiking is doing a Scavenger Hunt.  It gives her something to focus on, things to look at, helps pass the time and lets her forget about all the walking we are doing.  Some other ideas to keep kids entertained while hiking are letting them take photos with an old camera and looking for animal tracks.  Below I am sharing two generic scavenger hunt printables for hiking with your own children!

With a lot of our time going to be spent outside, protecting our skin will be my number one priority.  I plan on having  sunscreen stashed in a variety of places so that it’s never too far away including in our backpack for hiking, in the car and in our camper.

My go to choice for sunscreen is Banana Boat®.  Their brand NEW Banana Boat® SunComfort® Lotion Sunscreen is available as spray or lotion and in both 30 SPF and 50 SPF.  It is designed to help sand easily brush off (perfect for the beach) and to moisturize and protect your skin.  Perfect to help you and your family can have a comfortable experience in the sun!  I always look for sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.  Banana Boat® SunComfort® and Sport Performance® Lotion Sunscreens do both!

On a recent trip to Target, I picked up both Banana Boat® SunComfort® and Banana Boat® Sport Performance® Lotion Sunscreen.  I found the sunscreen in an aisle in the health/beauty department.

Scavenger Hunt Printables

I have used scavenger hunts for S previously and they have always been a huge hit.  When we get to the trailhead, we apply Banana Boat® SunComfort® sunscreen, grab a scavenger hunt sheet and a marker and off we go!  The whole family can have fun searching for items and turn a regular hike into an adventure!  As promised I am sharing two printables for general hiking: available here and here.

I am also including a bonus scavenger hunt that is specific to Yellowstone National Park!  I like to customize our scavenger hunts based on where we are going especially when it’s a big trip like Yellowstone.  You can find that printable here.

I thought I’d also give you a blank template that way you could create your own scavenger hunts.  You can download the template, draw items to look for on your own hike and color them (I used watercolor pencils) or have your kids color them.  Getting your children involved helps build the excitement for an upcoming trip!  S actually created her own scavenger hunt pages right along side me.

*Remember when visiting national, state and local parks to not remove any items from the parks.

I encourage you to get outside this summer and spend time with your family!  Get Your Fun On – Any Time, Anywhere.

What outdoor adventures will your family be taking this summer?  Will Banana Boat® SunComfort® Lotion Sunscreen be apart of your adventure?

LOVE this!!!! We hike all the time, and now that my son is getting older, I’m looking for fun things to do to keep his mind occupied. He’s still a bit young for this activity, though I wonder if taking our own photos of these things and putting them together for him would be a neat little twist? Thanks so much for sharing!
