Fireplace Mantels 3 Ways for Christmas

December 4, 2014 By: mybigfathappylife

I love to decorated for Christmas and one of my favorite areas to decorate is my fireplace mantel.  I take everything off my mantel and change it to Christmas decorations.  Special thanks to my mom for letting me photograph her fireplace mantels.

Snowmen

I have been collecting snowmen since I was 17.  My dad (I am pretty sure it’s actually my mom 🙂 ) always buys me one for Christmas and I have bought a couple along the way.  I display most of my collection on my fireplace mantel along with one of my favorite new decors item – a silver mercury glass Christmas tree!

Candles

A simple, easy way to decorate your mantel is to fill it with candles.  A mix of pillar candles and votive candles in mercury glass holders along with evergreens is a cozy option.  All the candles on the mantel are battery operated, which makes it completely safe too.

Saint Nicks

My mom has been collecting Saint Nicks for as long as I can remember.  Each year she adds another Saint Nick to her collection with many of them being picked up during her travels.  Not only is my mom’s fireplace mantel covered in Saint Nicks but she has a cabinet top completely covered too!   Fireplace Mantels 3 Ways for Christmas #christmas #decorating #holidaydecor | mybigfathappylife.com Fireplace Mantels 3 Ways for Christmas #christmas #decorating #holidaydecor | mybigfathappylife.com

Do you decorate your fireplace mantel for Christmas?  What do you place on your mantel?

Yes I decorate my fire mantle each year. I use fake holiday floral vines I purchased from the Dollar Store years ago and Christmas tree candles. You’ll kind of see it in tomorrow’s post as I talk about our Christmas decorating.

I am really hoping to get a mantel in my next house! These ideas are so cute, and it would be so much fun to decorate a mantel for Christmas and every other holiday/season, too. Thanks for sharing these ideas with Hump Day Happenings.
