The holidays are always such a busy time of the year, however, I try to focus more and more on spending quality time together with my family creating memories. One of my family’s favorite activities during the holidays is reading holiday books beside the tree with a picnic and holiday music playing.
I know that my daughter really enjoys our picnics under the tree because she talks about it during the rest of the year. I love knowing that my daughter treasures these moments (as much as I do) where we slow down and enjoy time together focusing on what the holiday season is all about: family.
Since the season is busy and hectic, I am sharing this easy, quick idea that will not take long at all to prepare!
A Picnic Under the Tree
- Turn the lights on the tree.
- Turn on holiday music.
- Lay a blanket next to the tree and gather holiday books under the tree. Tip: If you do not have a large selection of holiday books check some out from the library.
- Assemble your picnic. I suggest finger foods for your picnic because it is less messy! Our spread included Mulino Bianco Breadsticks, olives, cubed mozzarella cheese, grape tomatoes, and prosciutto.
