Citrus Lane: September 2014 Unboxing

October 7, 2014 By: mybigfathappylife

 Citrus Lane September 2014 #subscriptionbox | mybigfathappylife.com

We received our September 2014 Citrus Lane box last week.  I do not have a picture of the box or the products in the box because our box was delivered on a day that was raining and the mailman placed the box on the edge of my porch.  Therefore the entire box was soaked and water came pouring out of the box when I picked it up!  Luckily most of the products inside were dry.  The book had water damage on the back cover, but I let it dry out and then placed a book on it to flatten it back out.  Of course, this is in no way Citrus Lane’s fault.

What was inside our box?

Ice Cream Truck puzzle by Crocodile Creek $10.95

How fun is this puzzle?  Not only is it a cute puzzle but the box is shaped like an ice cream truck with wheels that actually spin for pretend play.

Creativity Can by Creativity for Kids $9.99

This was the first item S wanted to play with and spent 2 nights while I was cooking dinner assembling creatures.  The can contains 50 pieces including pom poms, googly eyes, card stock pieces, air dry clay, mechanism for the creature to walk and more.

Little Red Hen Book & CD Set from Barefoot Books $9.95

This is a great book that teaches you about hard work.  The book also includes a CD with narration by Debra Messing.  S has already read this book several times and listened to the narration.

Cinnamon Crunch Sample from Somersault Snacks

S loved this sample and ate the whole pouch.  The snacks are made from sunflower and sesame seeds (nut-free).

Conclusion

Total value in our Citrus Lane box this month was $30.89 and I paid $15.00.  I loved everything inside our box this month!  S is very creative and she enjoys reading and putting together puzzles.  So even though the value was not high this month, I was very happy that we will get a lot of use out of the products.

This looks so neat! Maybe in the future I’ll try something like this but honestly, I worry about having too much stuff in the house. Do you ever cycle through things or give them as presents or donate them after your daughter has played with them a little bit? Do you feel like it’s a lot of extra “stuff”?

The creativity can got used up (mostly – the rest of the pieces ended up in our arts and crafts supplies). I do not think you can have too many books or puzzles – we use these often. In previous boxes there were some items that have not been played with alot, but my daughter plays in streaks with stuff. As my daughter out grows toys we place them in our attic.

These boxes never seem to disappoint. Knowing me I would store them away for Christmas so I’d be stocked up with my gift buying.

      That’s a good idea Aimee!
