A look at the beautiful Hotel Convento do Salvador and why you should consider staying here the next time you visit Lisbon, Portugal.

On our last trip to Lisbon, Portugal we stayed at the Hotel Convento do Salvador. We absolutely loved this eco-friendly hotel that is a former convent. It is conveniently located in the heart of the Alfama neighbourhood. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, housekeeping was excellent, our room was gorgeous and very clean, and the location was amazing. Also the breakfast was delicious! We would definitely stay at the Hotel Convento do Salvador again on our next visit to Lisbon.

Location

Great location! Conveniently located in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon, the hotel is within walking distance of St. Gorge’s Castle, Sé Cathedral, Praça de Comércio, and down-town Lisbon. The hotel is very close to Miradouro das Portas de Sol and Miradouro de Santa Luzia for gorgeous views of the city and river. The famous no. 28 tram passes right outside the hotel. Plus there are many restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby.

The only disadvantage is that Uber cannot drop off or pick up at the hotel door you do have to walk from the main road down the street.

Room

The clean, chic modern room was so comfortable. We had a duplex junior suite, which has a pull out sofa downstairs and a king bed upstairs. We had plenty of room for the three of us. Our room looked out onto the hotel courtyard. The room had a smart TV, Wi-Fi, individually controlled AC, a safe, and a tea/coffee maker.

Restaurants/Bar

Breakfast may be included in your room reservation (it was in our booking), however if it is not you can purchase breakfast at Hotel Convento do Salvador. They offer a variety of choices including pastel de nata during our visit. We really enjoyed their breakfast options including their specialty coffee machine.

In the lobby, is the hotel bar with a large selection of cocktails, aperitifs, cold beverages, and snacks.
