7 Tips for Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival 2015

February 27, 2015 By: mybigfathappylife

7 Tips for Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival, Walt Disney World | mybigfathappylife.com

I love to visit Disney World when a festival or special event is going on because it’s like getting a bonus since most of the activities are included in the price of admission.  Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival at Walt Disney World is one of those festivals.  This year the festival runs from March 4-May 17, 2015.  During the festival, Epcot comes to life with beautiful topiaries, stunning gardens, outdoor kitchens (food kiosks), evening concerts, special tours and presentations.  Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Tips | mybigfathappylife.comEpcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Tips | mybigfathappylife.com

1. Take in the Topiaries

Disney horticulturists design and assemble approximately 100 topiaries and additional gardens throughout the park.  The topiaries provide a beautiful and colorful backdrop to the festival.

2.  Taste Scrumptious Small Plates at the Outdoor Kitchens (food kiosks – cost)

Located around the World Showcase are Outdoor Kitchens that feature garden-grown foods and food inspired by spring.  There are many food options that will appeal to children and several non-alcoholic drinks for them to try.  It is also a great time for adults and children to sample foods that are new to them or outside their comfort zone as the portion sizes are small. 3. Attend a Free Garden Rocks Concert

Plan to attend one of the free weekend concerts held at the America Gardens Theaters on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8:00pm.  Since the theater is outside, even if it is full, you can still enjoy the music in the area around the theater.  Some of the artists performing this year are The Guess Who, Pablo Cruise, En Vogue, Village People, John Seceda, Starship, Taylor Dane and much more. 4. Take in a Gardening Presentation

Each weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Festival Center is full of activities including hands on demonstrations, presentations and meeting specialists.  Check out the fun fresh weekend guide here to see what is happening when you visit. Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Tips | mybigfathappylife.com

5. Involve the Kids

The festival is not just for adults, there are plenty of activities for children too.  This year the festival includes play areas, play gardens and a butterfly house.  Don’t forget there are plenty of food and drink options for the kids at the Outdoor Kitchens. Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Tips | mybigfathappylife.com Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Tips | mybigfathappylife.com

6. Get Your Garden Passport Stamped

Pick up a complimentary Garden Passport at the Festival Center, any Disney Vacation Club Information Booth at Epcot or at any Outdoor Kitchen.  You can get your passport stamped at each Outdoor Kitchen and check off which items you tasted.  It makes a great free souvenir from your trip!

7.  Plan Your Trip

Spring is a great time to visit Walt Disney World, however to experience lower crowd levels be aware of Spring Break and Easter when booking.  In addition, the weekends will be more crowded due to locals visiting.

While most of the festival events are included in your Epcot admission, there are some experiences that require separate purchase or admission fee.

I hope these tips help you and your family enjoy this years’ International Flower and Garden Festival. Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival Tips | mybigfathappylife.com For more information about Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival, visit Disney World’s website here.

Oh my goodness, you have just totally made my day. I’ve always wanted to go tot he EPCOT International Flower Garden Festival and have had it on my “maybe someday” bucket list. I never knew exactly when it was and thought it was only for a short period. Low and behold, I already have tickets to EPCOT for mid-March and just realized while reading your post that it’s during the festival. Yippee!! I am so totally excited now… even much more so than when I thought I was doing just a regular ole EPCOT visit. I’m going to look at the Festival Guide right now. Thank you so much!

Great to find you through #WeekendWanderlust, and great tips! We “accidentally” attended the Flower & Garden Festival a couple years ago – we had a window to go to Disneyworld, and it just happened to be during the festival. We had such a great time, and even learned a little bit from some of the sponsors who were there. And, of course, we took about a billion pictures! Thanks for sharing yours!

Thank you Rob! I am so glad that you got to enjoy the festival! It’s a wonderful time of the year to visit!
